Greetings, Thanks, and Continuing Prayer Request from Sudan to WRF Members

Greetings in the Precious Name of Christ the Lord! First, we are thankful to God our Creator and Savior.  In Him we live, move and have our being and He has bound us together to pray for peace in Sudan.

Secondly, allow me to convey our thanks and gratitude on behalf of Sudanese Reformed Churches and entire Christian communities in Sudan to the members of World Reformed Fellowship that have heartily joined the Sudanese Christians in prayers for peaceful conduct of referendum in Sudan. WRF members -  keep up the good work,  well-done!

The Carter Center, the European Union, the African Union as well as The Northern Ruling National Congress Party and The Southern Ruling Sudan People’s Liberation Movement have already described the referendum exercise as peaceful, free and orderly. This is a clear result of thousands and even millions of Christians world-wide who have poured out their hearts to God the Almighty for successful and peaceful referendum in Sudan. Southern Sudan has suffered for long more than fifty five years of displacement, death and destruction. Through your prayers, Southern Sudan is at last realizing its long dream of self-identity and nationhood.

Indeed, a new nation is now born, but there are still burning issues of the CPA that are not yet implemented such as border demarcation, the Abyie Region Referendum and the status of the Nuba Mountains and the Southern Blue Nile. Lastly, how will the people of southern Sudan start their new nation?  The referendum was just an event but what will happen next? We still need your prayers.

Yours in Service,

Rev. Patrick Jok Ding
