During the Fall of 2010, the first volume in a series of textbooks for majority world colleges and Bible institutes was released. The series is entitled The ABCs of . . . and each book in this textbook series will be approximately one hundred pages in length.
These textbooks are designed with English-as-a-second-language readers and students in view. The first volume is The ABCs of Christian Biography. It provides brief biographies of twenty-six Christians from within the Reformation to the twentieth century period. The book is well-illustrated with images and maps in order to be as user-friendly as possible and to enhance the written text. The author, Jack Whytock, is a WRF member, and the copy-editor, his wife, Nancy, is also a WRF member. Rev. Ronald Munyithya, another WRF member and a lecturer at Westminster College, Kampala, Uganda has written this endorsement of the book: History is not just about events but about people making events. With his usual intellectual incisiveness, Dr. Jack Whytock takes us on people-based historical tours from the Reformation to the present with an eye to the future. ABCs of Christian Biography is an in-depth work presented with amazing simplicity for the global public square.
