WRF Organizational Member Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary Elects New President
The 185th Synod of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America voted on June 29, 2016, to elect Rev. Barry York as the next President of the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary, to be installed in 2018, Lord willing.
Professor York, currently Dean of Faculty and Professor of Pastoral Theology would be only the fifth president of the Seminary in the last 89 years. Previous presidents in that time span are R. J. G. McKnight (1929 to 1953), S. Bruce Willson (1953 to 1976), Bruce C. Stewart (1976 to 1995), and Jerry F. O'Neill (1995 to present). This leadership consistency is quite unusual in theological or higher education today with many presidential tenures ending in four or five years. Please keep the RPTS Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, and students in your prayers as preparations continue for this historic transition. RPTS is an organizational member of the World Reformed Fellowship.Praising the Lord for faithful servants!
